What these tools are for
Most photography maths exists because sensors come in different sizes. Crop factor is the conversion between them, and it applies to field of view and to depth of field, but not to exposure — a common enough confusion that it is worth stating plainly.
Hyperfocal distance is the other classic. It is derived from a circle of confusion, which is itself a decision about how much blur counts as sharp, so hyperfocal tables are precise about something inherently subjective. Focusing at the hyperfocal distance puts infinity at the edge of acceptable rather than genuinely sharp, which is why landscape photographers often focus slightly beyond it.
Video bitrate is a different problem again: a codec, resolution and framerate together set what bitrate is needed, and going below it does not shrink the file gracefully, it degrades motion first.
