Cost = wattage ÷ 1000 × hours used per day × your price per kWh. That gives kWh per day and cost per day, which are then scaled to week (×7), month (×30.44 average days), and year (×365).
Nameplate wattage is what an appliance draws while actively running. Duty-cycling appliances (fridges, freezers, air conditioners) cycle their compressor on and off, so their real average draw is well below the number printed on the label — use a plug-in watt-meter or a duty-cycle estimate for a more accurate figure.
